Warmfront is a daily good-news ritual. We built it to ask as little of you as possible. This page says plainly what the app touches, what it stores, and what it never does.

What we collect

• Nothing, if you never sign in. The app works fully without an account. Your streak, settings, and sleep summaries live on your device.
• If you choose Sign in with Apple: we store your Apple account identifier and, if you share it, your email address, plus which daily editions you finished. That reading history is what syncs your sunrises across devices. Nothing else.
• If you join the mailing list on this site: your email address, used for one launch announcement and rare, quiet updates. Unsubscribe is one click.

The microphone

At night, with your permission, Warmfront uses the microphone as a live loudness meter: it measures the room’s sound level to fade the audio when you fall asleep, to sense restlessness, and to raise the morning at a light moment inside your wake window. Audio is measured and immediately discarded. No audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted. Only per-minute movement counts are kept, on your device.

Health data

If you connect Apple Health, Warmfront reads your sleep analysis to show your night in the Almanac. Health data never leaves your device and is never written back, shared, or sold.

What we never do

• No advertising, no trackers, no analytics brokers, no selling of any data.
• No tracking across other apps or websites.
• No dark patterns: the app ends on purpose, every day.

Where data lives

Account and reading-history data is processed by Supabase, our database provider, in their managed infrastructure. News stories link out to their original publishers; opening a story’s source loads that publisher’s site under their policies.

Deleting your data

Delete your account inside the app (Settings, Account) or email us and we will erase your account and reading history promptly. Mailing-list removal is instant via the unsubscribe link.

Children

Warmfront is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
